NGOs join hands, start counseling for destitute students

JAMMU, Nov 23: NGOs-Central Govt Pensioners’ Welfare Association (CGPWA), Samaj Kalyan Kendra (SKK) and BALGRAN here today joined hands and started counseling Divyang and destitute students so that they may excel in examinations.
This collaborative programme has been formally launched at BALGRAN, Channi Rama here today with 70 students of secondary classes.
A power point interactive counselling was given to the students on ‘Handling Examination Stress’ by Kundan Lal Dogra, Principal MV International School.
Principal of School for Hearing & Speech Handicapped, Roshan Bhan explained the presentation to Divyang students through sign language.
A deaf and dumb student, Pradeep Kumar of class 10th used sign language to interact while two inmates of BALGRAN, Gulshan & Geeta Thakur also articulated their views on the subject.
Joint Director Education, J.K Sudan, representing Director School Education, lauded the initiative.
Rajeshwar Singh Jamwal, Assistant Director, representing DG Social Welfare also commended the initiative.
President BALGRAN, A.K Khajuria welcomed the guests.
Among others who spoke on the occasion were J.K Vaid, General Secretary CGPWA, K.B Jandial, President SKK and VK Sambyal, former Director AIR.
