13 shops affected in fire incident: Kichloo

JAMMU, Mar 18: Minister of State for Home Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo while replying to a calling attention notice by Syed Mohammad Rafiq Shah said that on March 2, 2013 a telephonic message was received at Fire and Emergency Station Kralpora station regarding outbreak of fire at Meleyal,  Kupwara.
The Minister said Fire & Emergency stations of Kralpora, Trehgam and Kupwara along with men and machinery with four Fire Tenders and 3 portable pumps reached the spot within minutes. He said one shopping line having wooden construction single storied tin roofed, comprising of 13 shops was involved in fire in which 5 shops including 4 shops/stores of CAPD, 03 of which were empty and were partly gutted slightly damaging 10 sugar bags.
Mr. Kichloo said that eight other shops dealing in Mobile/TV repairing, tea Stall, Nanwai shop, Kiryana/Hosiery and Hardware shops were completely gutted, adding that 17 shops adjacent to the involved property and other commercial units on opposite side of the involved property were completely saved..  He said the loss of property was estimated approximately to about Rs. 18 lakh out of the involved property of approximately Rs 45 Lakh. He said the property saved was approximately worth Rs 27 lakh. He said no loss of life was reported and cause of fire is under police investigation. The nearest Fire & Emergency Station Kralpora is at a distance of about 7 kms from the place of incident.
