JAMMU, Nov 26: To seek the spiritual blessings of the deity, devotees in large number visited the ancient Bhairav Ji Mandir at busy Chowk Chabutra area here this evening for annual ‘Dhand Fanda’ ritual.
Serpentine queues were seen at both the sides of the temple at the busy Chowk Chabutra road.
There were cops to foil any design by anti-social elements and many stalls were installed with eatables for devotees.
Chief Priest at the Shrine, Pandit Rumil Sharma informed that ‘Dhand Fanda’ ritual is performed at a very few places in India.
He also informed that all the effects of evil spirits, pains, sufferings, adversary effects, old chronic ailments besides effects etc are effectively cured by the holy ‘Dhand Fanda’ ritual and the Dhand (Holy Mace) of Bhagwan Bhairav Ji which is worshipped throughout the year and is picked up only once after the annual Bhandara.
He also said that after the successful culmination of Annual Bhairav Bhandara of Bhairav Ashtami, the much awaited ‘Dhand Fanda’ ritual is performed.
