UDHAMPUR, Nov 27: As part of the ‘Back to Village’ programme phase II, series of activities were organised in various Panchayats marking the start of the 2nd segment of this flagship initiative for development of rural areas.
Principal Secretary Planning, Development, Monitoring and Information Department Rohit Kansal, the visiting officer for Panchayat Sarar, interacted with Panchayat representatives and local people in Gram Panchayat Sabha and took note of their concerns and developmental needs, besides assessing economic potential of the area.
He along with DDC Udhampur Dr. Piyush Singla also visited Block Head quarter Latti where Sarpanchs of different panchayats projected their demands. They sought renovation of circular roads , up gradation of schools and health centres, inclusion of Latti , Dudu ,Basantgarh area on state’s tourist map with adequate tourist infrastructure, change of jurisdiction of Munsif court from Ramnagar to Chenani, extension of jurisdictions of police station Latti, Mini stadium in Latti area, construction of bridge over Tawi connecting Chenani and Pattangarh area.
The Principal Secretary gave patient hearing to the demands of public and assured to concede them in a phased manner. He also appreciated the concern of public regarding education.
Kansal also welcomed the project Jeevika conceptualized by the district administration Udhampur and asked farmers to avail its benefits to enhance their income. Public of the area also thanked Principal Secretary for resolution of different demands raised in B2V1 like forest clearances of different roads in the area.
Principal Secretary also met a deputation of Sarpanches of various panchayats of block Chenani and Block Sewna who projected their demands for construction of bridge over Tawi connecting Chenani and Pattangarh.
He also inaugurated newly constructed house under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana at Sarar. He also undertook inspections of various developmental works and to access the status of amenities available in the area. He assured that the issues projected before him by the locals will be taken up to the appropriate authorities for redressal.
