JAMMU, Nov 27: Police arrested notorious drug peddlers and recovered 30 grams heroin from their possession.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a police team led by SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma and assisted by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shoket and Incharge Police Post Sidhra SI Zaheer Manhas laid a naka and intercepted signaled two vehicles including Tata Nexa to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the drivers accelerated the vehicles and tried to escape, but the cops intercepted them after a brief chase.
During checking, police team recovered 30 grams heroin from the possession of three persons traveling in the vehicles and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as Mohammad Aslam alias Sonu, son of Rehmat Ali of Dangyali Sidhra District Jammu, Abdul Rouf alias Kohli, son of Shakeel Ahmed of Lasana District Poonch and Rajinder Sharma alias Billa, son of Prabh Dayal of Jagti, District Jammu.
It is pertinent to mention here that Mohammad Aslam alias Sonu and Abdul Rouf alias Kohli are notorious drug peddlers and cases against them stands registered in Districts Udhampur, Jammu and Poonch.
With their arrest, police saved the future of thousands of youth, who otherwise would have fallen prey to drug addiction.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Nagrota Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
