SRINAGAR, Mar 18: The employees of Government Press, Srinagar today carried out protest demonstration against the proposal to shift Government Press, Srinagar from city centre to Sempora-Pampore in Pulwama district.
In a statement, a spokesman of Government Press Employees Association (GPEA) said that the protest was carried within the premises of the press here. The employees raised slogans against the Government proposal to shift the press and said that this would lead to huge loss to the state ex-chequer.
The spokesman said that most of the Government Departments and other establishments would get their work done from other printing presses if the Government Press, Srinagar is shifted to Sempora. He said the Government should reconsider its decision so that there is no loss to the State ex-chequer.
