The problem of encroachment and illegal construction is not merely confined to Gulmarg only, but almost all tourists place remain prone to illegal construction. Sometime back the world famous Pahalgam in South Kashmir too remained in news for illegal construction.
The Tourism Development Authorities must not allow these illegal constructions take place at any cost, as it becomes very difficult for them to remove them. There may be political pressure or any other vested interest involved but these should be resisted to for keeping these places as natural as possible.
Once these resorts lose their virginity, no one would like to visit them. Then these places would lose the very purpose for which these constructions are taking place. In this stressful life people often visit these places to relax, to become one with nature, and to pass time peacefully from the hustle and bustle of overcrowded and polluted cities. Therefore nothing should be allowed to harm these natural beauties that God has endowed this land with.
