JAMMU, Nov 28: Continuing the drive to provide better basic facilities to the people of Jammu city Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Chander Mohan Gupta along with Suresh Gupta, Health Officer, JMC, Prem Raj, Transport Officer, Rajinder Kumar, Assistant Sanitation Officer, Vijay Kumar Sanitary Inspector and other field staff of JMC conducted an intensive tour of Shiv Market opposite Railway Station here, today.
He also met with Committee members of Historic Shiv Mandir where large number of tourists as well as Amarnath yatries visit and even stay in the temple. Committee members put various demands before the Mayor which included construction of public utility near temple for general public as well as better sanitation in and around the temple and in the Shiv Market.
Mayor assured the Shiv Market Association and Committee members of Shiv temple that all their demands will be redressed on priority basis.
He directed the officers for constructing a well furnished community/public toilet in the Shiv Market and also issued a separate auto for collecting garbage, filth etc on daily basis from the shopkeepers and assured that garbage collection point Opposite Sangam Hotel near Shiv Market may be covered with boundary wall and its floor with tiles so that garbage may not scatter on the roadside and make Jammu city neat, clean and polythene free. He appealed to them not to use single used plastic in their shops.
