JAMMU, Nov 29: The School of Business, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University organized a national training program on ‘Rational Decision Making: Strategies and Techniques’ for Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers with the financial support from Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change, Government of India.
The chief guest Padamshri Prof Ravindra Kumar Sinha, Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU emphasized on the need of right decisions to save the forests for our future generations. He mentioned that while taking any decision one should always take into consideration the repercussions of that for the basic life support system.
Earlier, Dr Jyoti Sharma, the Program Coordinator while briefing on the inaugural occasion disclosed that the objective of this program is to channelize the intellect and skills of the officers for making the rational decisions. Dr Saurabh, Head, School of Business opined that the sustainable organizations run on rational decisions which take into consideration both numbers and people.
Prof VK Bhat, Registrar, SMVD University, emphasized on the preservation and conservation of forests for human sustenance by making the effective decisions. The importance of Forest Services for the smooth pilgrimage of Mata Vaishno Devi was discussed by the Shrine Board CEO, Simrandeep Singh, the guest of honour of the function.
The ice-breaking session was conducted by Dr Suparn K. Sharma, organizing secretary of the program & Associate Professor, School of Business.
Dr Rashi Taggar, Member, Organizing Committee & Assistant Professor, School of Business, expressed her gratitude to Padamshri Prof Ravindra Kumar Sinha, Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU for his support and thanked the administration for providing resources for a smooth conduct of the program.
The officers from 19 different parts of the country, including Karnataka, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Orissa, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Maharashtra, etc. are participating in the grand training program.
