SAMBA, Nov 30: A district level mega Enrolment Camp cum Awareness Week for Pradhaan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PM-SYM) and National Pension Scheme (NPS) for traders was inaugurated today at Conference Hall of DC Office, Samba.
The programme was organized under the overall supervision of Chief Planning Officer Samba Sukhleen Kaur along with AD Employment and Labour Officer Samba. Around 400 participants from trader community, MGNREGA workers, Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries, Asha workers and self employed persons of JKEDI department participated in the programme. The pension week will be celebrated throughout the district from today (Nov 30) to December 6 for enrolment of beneficiaries through various Community Service Centres.
Assistant Director Employment, Samba briefed the participants about salient features of the scheme and pamphlets were also distributed on the spot for awareness of beneficiaries. A visual presentation was also made available to the participants for making them aware about the pension scheme.
Chief Planning Officer, Samba also guided the participants about the benefits under the scheme and advised them to disseminate this information to maximum people of their localities so that more and more people are covered under this scheme.
Further, registration counters were set up by the Common Service Centre Samba for on spot registration of participants and a large number of people got themselves registered for the pension scheme.
