JAMMU, Dec 2: Demanding continuation of their services, contractual teachers of Kashmir Division today held a protest demonstration.
The demonstration was organized under the banner of All Jammu and Kashmir Contractual Teachers Association and the protesters were demanding continuation of their service. They raised slogans in support of their demand and threatened to intensify the struggle if the Government does not take a sympathetic approach to their issue.
These contractual teachers have served the School Education Department for about one and half year since 2019 on monthly salary of Rs 4500. We are ready to serve the department on the same salary as majority of us are at the verge of overage,” they said and claimed that they were disengaged without notification.
The protesters appealed the Lt Governor and Advisor K K Sharma to take a sympathetic view of their genuine demand and issue necessary order for continuation of their service as Contractual Teacher.
