JAMMU, Dec 3: A tanker driver died today after falling from his own tanker in Narwal area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, the deceased was identified as Balbir Singh (62) son of Thakur Singh, resident of Canal Road, Talab Tillo.
He said Balbir fell down from the top of his own tanker allegedly after getting slipped, at Yard No 2, Transport Nagar, Narwal, where he had gone for some repair work of his vehicle. “After fall, Balbir collapsed and was taken to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors,” he added.
The official said the body was sent for postmortem while inquest proceeding under 174 CrPC was initiated in this connection by Narwal police.
