SAMBA, Dec 4: Notwithstanding the Governments claims about launch of Swacch Bharat Abhiyan to make India clean and green, heaps of garbage are lying scattered in Samba under the nose of Municipal Committee Samba. The heaps of the filth are dumped along the National Highway in different places of Samba town, but the officers of the Municipal Committee Samba have failed to get the same removed and clean the area.
The heaps of filth and garbage dumped along the National Highway Samba have added to the woes of people as the same have become health hazards but the Department has failed to remove the same from there. The consumers visiting the market are forced to cover their mouth as the garbage heaps lying scattered emit the foul smell.
A shopkeeper in the area said that, the heaps of filth have been dumped in front of their shops for last many days, but no employees of the Municipal Committee, Samba takes cognizance of the same and deputes Safai Karamcharis to remove it.
In Ward No 10, Samba the heaps of filth are lying outside the Government Middle School, Arazi Samba, when this correspondent talked with one youth of the Ward, he said that the heaps of filth are dumped outside the Middle School and different places of the Ward but the employees of the Municipal Committee Samba visit the Ward during one time in the month despite the fact that Chairman of Municipal Committee, Samba also belongs to this Ward.
When such will be condition of the Ward where Chairman of MC Samba resides, how one can expect that other wards will be clean, he added.
