Issue of industrial incentive taken up with Centre: Kichloo

JAMMU, Mar 19: The Department of Industries and Commerce (DIC) has taken up the issue for revival of Central Incentive Scheme (CIS) 2002 with the Government of India.
The information was given by the Minister of State for Industries and Commerce, Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo while replying to a question of Vijay Bakaya in the Legislative Council today.
The Minister said that all the incentives for industrialization in the State except Central Excise exemption and transport subsidy, expired in June 2012. He further said that after expiry of the Central package, 13 units have been closed and one has become sick. Similarly, one such unit which had availed subsidy under Central scheme in Kashmir has been closed down.
While replying on the behalf of R&B Minister to a question by Sheikh Ghulam Rasool, Mr Kichloo said that there is no proposal with PWD for widening of Batapora-Woyli junction of Srinagar-Sonamarg road.
The Minister said that the road sector Km-12 (Batapora) to Km-30 (Woyli) junction of Srinagar-Sonamarg is of Intermediate Width (IW) specification and is being maintained by BRO. However, the Govt. will look into the matter.
