Army extends helping hand to orphans

REASI, Mar 19: Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, Sarh extended helping hand to an orphanage, run by “Orphans Self Help Group” by distributing infrastructure and sport items at village Buddhan of Mahore.
On the occasion, Commanding Officer of the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, Sarh, Colonel JS Kohli was the chief guest, who distributed benches, blackboards, educational charts, sports items and a colour TV to the orphanage.
While speaking, CO said that Army through its various initiatives, strives towards bringing about betterment in various spheres of activity in the regions where it is deployed, by adopting various developmental schemes and by improving the human resource base of the populace, more so in the remote interior under-developed areas.
CO said that Army has left no stone unturned to come to the forefront of developmental activity, and to lend a helping hand to the locals.
While speaking, Kuldip Roy Sharma, treasurer, Orphans Self Help Group claimed that they set up the organization with whatever financial back-up they had, in order to ensure that the orphans were not deprived of education.
