JAMMU, Dec 5: Two women of a family were attacked today with a sharp edged weapon by their neighbours in Akhnoor area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, the victims were identified as Reena Devi and her sister-in-law Ritu Kumari of Sole (Akhnoor). He said they were allegedly attacked by their relatives (also neighbours) by sharp edged weapons to take revenge as few days back the husbands of the victims and their other family members had thrashed the accused and their family members.
“The accused have been identified as Kaka Ram, Vicky and Aarti Devi,” the official said, adding both the families had a feud over some land issue on which they clashed earlier also. He said both the injured women were shifted to Sub District Hospital Akhnoor from where they were later referred to GMC Jammu for specialized treatment.
He said that a case FIR number 238 under relevant sections was registered in this connection at police station Akhnoor and further investigation initiated while no arrest had been made in the case so far.
