4 killed, 2 injured in road accidents

JAMMU, Dec 8: Four persons were killed while two others sustained injuries in separate road accidents in city outskirts.
According to a police official, a speeding Nano car carrying three persons tonight at about 9 O’ clock rammed into the divider of the road at Malik Market (Narwal), resulting into serious injuries to all the occupants. He said they were immediately rushed to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, where one of them namely Mukesh Gupta (55) son of Chander Jagdish Gupta of Srinagar was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
He said condition of other two persons identified as Deepakshi Gupta daughter of Mukesh Gupta and Karan Pandav son of Parveen Pandav of Channi was critical, when the last reports came in. “Bathindi police had taken cognizance of the matter and started investigation in the case,” he added.
Meanwhile, an accident victim identified as Tanoj Kumar son of Pritam Chand, resident of Raipur-Satwari, who was undergoing treatment at GMC Jammu, died today at about 1.30 AM. He said Tanoj was seriously injured yesterday at about 8 PM when a bus on which he was travelling, rammed into a roadside structure in upper Belicharana area of city outskirts.
A man identified as Ashwani Kumar (40) son of Mulkh Raj, resident of Salehar (Bishnah), also died in a road accident today. He was injured yesterday at Makhanpur when his bike collided with another bike. In serious condition, he was rushed to SDH Bishnah. After midnight, doctors of SDH Bishnah referred him to GMC Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors at about 2.30 AM.
Both the dead bodies were shifted to mortuary room of the Hospital for postmortem while concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter in both the accidents.
