KATRA, Dec 10: Students of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University bagged 170 campus placement offers from 12 different companies during the recent campus placement drive.
SMVDU started off its Campus Placement Programme-2020 in September 2019 for the students of batch passing out in May 2020. Infosys was the first company to visit SMVDU on 17th September 2019 and selected (37) students, followed by Wipro (20), ICICI Bank (15), TCS (24), ICICI Prudential (20), Ceasefire Industries (04), Ezmata Technologies (09), Orange (13), Ericsson (15), Indian Navy etc.
Thus, students of SMVDU bagged 170 placements offers with highest CTC of Rs 7 lakh /annum and average CTC of Rs 3.75 lakh /annum. Among 12 recruiting companies, nine are the regular recruiters and three companies, namely Ezmata Technologies, Pune, Berger Paints Kolkata and Ericsson Global Guru Gram are the new ones to visit SMVDU first time for campus hiring.
The SMVDU also conducted three pool drives considering the students of other institutions of the region for campus placement. Despite the economic slowdown being talked about much, Campus Placement in SMVDU Katra has actually ascended in the current session.
Professor R K Sinha, Vice Chancellor, SMVDU, had a mid-session campus placement-2020 review to personally monitor the status of employment opportunities being made available to the university students. The figures mentioned here are till November 2019 and more recruiters are expected to visit SMVDU for the Campus-2020 hiring.
