KATHUA, Dec 10: Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) today discussed issues of relief distribution among the members of displaced families today.
A meeting of DP’s of 1947 from PoK was held at village Keerian Gandyal, Kathua, jointly presided our by Gurdev Singh president JKSAC and Bhushan Sharma president District Kathua unit, wherein several senior members of adjoining areas participated and discussed several issues confronting DP’s particularly disbursal of relief package, mutation of land under DP’s dwelling, adequate compensation in lieu of deficient allotted lands for remaining DP’s families, relief package for families having only supplementary records and issuance of order for providing a relief to 5300 families residing outside J&K.
The participant appealed the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, Home Minister to issue advisory to Lt. Governor Girish Chandra Murmu to take immediate measures to resolve these micro level issues and redesign a comprehensive road map for the final settlement of DP’s taking into account the recommendations of Joint Parliamentary Committee Report on Home Affairs.
While interacting with the participants, Gurdev Singh said that this organisation is seized of all the said issues and is committed not to take rest until and unless the same are not resolved as per the legitimate aspirations of DP’s. He asked the participants to highlight the said issues among the DP’s in order to make administration responsive for their redressal.
Further elaborating his views, he demanded that Lt Governor should immediately recommend early acceptance and implementation of JPC report to give relief to DP’s and similarly its ratification in current parliament session, till a final road map is prepared for the final settlement of DPs taking into account their loss of lives and properties left in PoK.
He also reminded to BJP leadership including both the MP’s from Jammu region to take up the issue seriously as the DP’s have reposed their faith in them and their non serious attitude towards DP’s would amount to betrayal of commitment made with DP’s.
