Sir, Amongst most deadliest social, political and economical diseases, the society now is infested with, the steer of corruption has assumed dimensions like wild fire. Age old traditional malice once rarely found is now being experienced everywhere. So deep rooted it is that despite frontic (so called) efforts by the Govts so far, the result in minimising its prevalence has been highly discouraging. Its existence in different shapes like bribe, commissions, gratifications undue favouritism, nepotism, communalism, regionalism has really weakened our social edifice. It plays dominant role in formation and dissolution of Govts. Even appointments transfers etc are not beyond its periphery. Dereliction of duty for which one is paid also falls in first chapter of corruption. Every foul play or transaction wherefrom one enjoys undue privilege on benefit what is legally and morally not sanctioned also falls in this chapter. Absence of law of piety, honesty and justice have all contributed in enlarging the graph of corruption. Only solace is left in cultivation of moral and ethical values which can transform our behaviour, manners and attitude in shunning this lead practice. Until law of justice is maintained, sense of right and wrong is created in the society, no amount of legislation can eradicate its prevalence. Yours etc…. Keshwa Nand Sharma Salehri (Sunderbani)
