SAMBA, Dec 12: Ajatshatru Singh along with Ranvijay Singh, both Trustees of Dharmarth Trust visited ancient Rani temple at Village Arjai in Samba district today.
Addressing gathering of locals and devotees, Ajatshatru said that Dharmarth Trust is doing yeoman’s job in maintaining the temples and shrines falling under its realms. He said despite the fact that the temple on the bank of river Basantar was constructed during the rule of Maharaja Gulab Singh, its sheen has been preserved. “The structure of the temple is entirely different from the other temples of Samba district. We will further look into the possibilities of making it popular among those coming from far off places besides ensuring more facilities for locals. Idols of various deities will be installed in the temple premises”, he added.
He gave directions for constructing boundary wall of the temple and providing other basic amenities. He emphasised that all the works will be completed before the upcoming Shivratri festival. He said that during the installation ceremony, the people of Samba district will be invited.
Earlier, Ajatshatru Singh along with Ranvijay Singh took a round of the temple premises and reviewed various aspects and requirements.
Chairman Municipal Committee, Samba, who was also present, assured the Trustees of Dharmarth Trust for constructing culvert for the facilitation of people visiting temple on daily basis.
Secretary Dharmarth Trust, Dr Sat Pal, additional secretary and Raghuvir Singh (Chicku) were also present.
