JAMMU, Dec 14: A 3-day workshop on trauma management concluded today at guest house of Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu.
The workshop was organized by GMC Jammu in collaboration with ICRC. During this course, 22 PG students from departments of Surgery, Ortho, Anesthesia and Medicine were imparted intensive training regarding trauma management in emergency.
The course aimed to manage trauma in a systematic way so as to decrease morbidity and mortality of the patients and it included both lectures and hands on training at skill stations. The course was at par with ATLS course.
During the concluding function, Principal GMC Jammu, Dr Sunanda Raina distributed certificates amongst the participants and the faculty of the Course Dr Kailash Singh, Dr Sanjay Sharma, Dr Manish Singh, Dr Bias Dev and Dr Shruti.
She asked the participants to utilize their new skills for best trauma management in emergency. She interacted with the participants and listened to their suggestions regarding improvement of emergency services and assured them of prompt redressal of the important issues.
The programme was also attended by Dr Nasib C Digra (HoD surgery), Dr Simriti Gulati (HoD Anaesthesia) and Dr Sanjeev Gupta (HoD Orthopedics). ICRC was represented by Dr Anjum Soni, Rajeev and Rajesh Bhagat.
