Army organizes educational tour for Pulwama students

JAMMU, Mar 20: Students of district Pulwama, who were on an educational-cum-motivational tour to Pune and Mumbai by Army’s 162 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry, under the aegis of Headquarters Victor Force, arrived back yesterday.
During the tour, 25 boys of age group from 14-18 years along with two senior teachers and staff from 162 Infantry Battalion visited various places of importance at Pune and Mumbai. They visited Armed Forces Medical Corps and Singhgarh Fort built by Shivaji at Pune. At Mumbai they visited, Gateway of India, Marine Drive, INS Vikrant, Haji Ali Dargh, Elephanta Caves and Prince Wales Museum.
The tour was flagged in yesterday by the Commanding Officer of 162 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) J&K Light Infantry. A colourful ceremony on the occasion was organised at Srinagar.
Students who participated in the tour shared their experiences. The tour not only provided avenues for the children to acquire knowledge and broaden their horizons but also exposed them to progress made in other parts of the country which will surely help them in their future career planning. Parents of the students expressed their satisfaction with the conduct of tour.
