Governor, CM greet people on Nauroz

JAMMU, Mar 20: Governor N. N. Vohra and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today greeted the people on the auspicious occasion of Nauroz.
In his message of felicitations, the Governor observed that the festival has both cultural and religious significance. Noting that this important day is also observed as World Arbour Day, he emphasized the need to plant the maximum number of trees for preserving the environment.
The Governor hoped that this auspicious day would be the harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
In a message on Nouroz-e-Alam, Omar Abdullah expressed the hope that the day will herald a new era of peace and progress in the State.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the significance of March 21 as the World Arbor Day and called for massive plantation across the State on this day.
