JAMMU, Dec 17: Ten persons were injured today in the collision of two cars in Chowki Choura area of Akhnoor.
“A Swift car and an Alto car coming from opposite directions collided head on with each other in Dukhada area in Salyote, Chowki Choura, this afternoon,” police sources said. They said in the mishap, 10 persons, five travelling in each car, were injured and they were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment.
The injured persons were identified as Mohd Sharief (48) son of Mohd Shafi, his wife Sameen Akhter (47), Ruksana wife of Tariq Mehmood, Raqib son of Tariq Mehmood, all residents of Surankote, besides Nazir Bi wife of Mohd Rashid of Mendhar, Babli (65) wife of Kala Khan of Nagrota and Zeenat (63) wife of Kaka, Kaka (65) son of Ram Chand, Halima (3½) daughter of Sahil and Tahira Begum wife of Sahil, all residents of Nai Basti.
A case in this connection was registered at concerned police station and investigations initiated.
