Police foils bovine smuggling bid, rescues 12 bovines at Ghagwal

SAMBA, Dec 17: Police foiled the bovine smuggling bid and rescued 12 bovines from the truck at Tapal under the jurisdiction of Ghagwal Police Station, but the driver of the truck managed to flee giving a slip to the police.
According to the Police, this morning at around 6:45am, a police team intercepted a truck bearing registration No JK02AH- 5977 which was coming from Kathua. During the search of the vehicle police found 12 bovines laden in the truck and illegally transported. Police rescued all bovines and shifted them to safer place and seized the truck, but failed to arrest the driver of the truck who fled from the spot. It may be recalled that few days ago the Ghagwal police also foiled the bovine smuggling bid but that times they too failed to arrest the driver of the vehicle. Today again the driver of the vehicle managed to escape from spot in the presence of police party.
The whole operation was conducts under the overall supervision of SSP Samba, Shakti Pathak under the direct supervision of DYSP Samba.
In this regard Police has registered the case and started further investigation.
