JAMMU, Dec 17: Activists of Dogra Front & Shiv Sena led by their president, Ashok Gupta took out a religious harmony rally along with Muslims and Sikhs against the “divide politics played by certain political parties on Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) which led to the Jamia Islamia university incident.”
Gupta accused certain political parties of “inciting” Sunday violence during a protest against the amended citizenship law near Jamia Millia Islamia.
He demanded a time-bound probe into the violence and arson.
Gupta claimed that in his protest Hindu, Muslim and Sikhs were walking together to show solidarity as CAA is for providing citizenship and not taking away anyone’s citizenship.
He blamed AAP leaders including Sisodia and Amanatullah Khan, for “instigating” people and urged the students not to become a “pawn” of politicians like them.
He also said that the CAA will give Indian citizenship to several lakh refugees who were compelled to seek refuge in India for the sake of protecting not only their identity but their very existence in countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
