BARAMULLA, Dec 19: Pattan police worked out a murder case with the arrest of the accused.
This was stated by SSP Baramulla Abdul Qayoom while interacting with media persons here today.

Divulging the details, a missing report regarding a person identified as Naveed Ahmad Lone, son of Mohammad Yousuf Lone of Neharpora Sopore was received at Police Station Pattan and subsequently his dead body was recovered from Renji area on December 17 this year.
Accordingly a case under FIR Number 214/19 under section 302 IPC stands registered and investigation set into motion, SSP said, adding that during the investigation some suspects were interrogated including the brother-in-law of deceased. During the investigation, it came to fore that the deceased has last visited house of his brother-in-law namely Abdul Rashid Rather, son of Ghulam Qadir Rather of Takiya Tapper.
“It also came into surface that Abdul Rashid Rather had gone to Sopore on December 16 and got him (Naveed Ahmad Lone) with the assurance of paying back him Rs 10 Lakh. On these lines, Abdul Rashid was interrogated and he confessed that he had planned of killing deceased because he was looking after his business and was keeping his amount with all records. Rather was also in doubt that the deceased was having illicit relationship with his family members and was trying to grab his money”, SSP stated.
“After killing the victim, the accused kept the dead body of the deceased inside the car and covered the car with the body cover of the vehicle”, SSP said.
“Later, the accused drove the car and threw the dead body of the deceased at Rengi, which was recovered by the police, SSP said, adding that damaged/ gutted mobile phone and some iron/steel parts of some items were recovered on the disclosure of the accused. The murderer has been arrested and further investigation is going on”, SSP informed.
