SAMBA, Dec 19:In a major blow to nefarious designs of drug smugglers, district police Samba has busted interstate drug racket with the arrest of Kashmir based narcotic smuggler who used to supply narcotics from Kashmir to other parts of the area and outside the UT of J&K.
Recently, district police Samba has arrested three drug smugglers and recovered huge cache of 950 Kg of Poppy Straw in case FIR No. 252/2019 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act and 261/2019 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act registered at P/S Samba. The interrogation of arrested persons revealed that they brought consignments from one Rashid Hussain Thoker, S/o Mohammed Yousuf Thoker R/o Gudoora, Pulwama for its supply into Punjab State. The drug supplier Rashid Hussain Thoker has his interstate nexus with narcotic gang operating outside the UT of J&K in Punjab where he frequently supply huge narcotic consignments by tactfully concealing it in the vehicles coming from Kashmir side.
In order to unearth the drug mafia nexus, special teams were constituted by SSP Samba and manhunt was launched to nab the kingpin of the drug racket.
Today on tipoff information, Police team headed by I/C PP Supwal has arrested the drug supplier namely Rashid Hussain Thoker at a Naka NHW Tapyal, Ghagwal under the supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs, Samba and Additional SP Samba. Faisal Qureshi Further investigation is going on.
