RAMBAN, Dec 19: Banihal police arrested an absconder, who was evading his arrest for the past 31 years.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Banihal Police Station conducted raid and apprehended an absconder, who was at large since 1989.
The accused has been identified as Jagjeet Singh, son of Baldev Singh of Digiana Ashram Camp District Jammu.
He was involved in a case registered under FIR Number 5/1989 under Section 382, 325 and 323 RPC with Police Station Banihal.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
A team from Police Station Banihal led by SI Romesh Kumar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Sajjad Sarwar, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma.
