CEC Kargil calls on LG Ladakh, his Advisor

KARGIL, Dec 19: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan today called on the Lieutenant Governor Ladakh R K Mathur at Leh and put forth various issues of common interest of Leh and Kargil districts.
Thanking the LG for extending 10% SDA to employees of Ladakh region, the CEC said that a very long pending demand of the employees have been fulfilled by the Government. He expressed optimism that all other issues of the people of Ladakh would be duly considered by the Government of India. The CEC was heading a joint delegation comprising of members of the LAHDC Leh and Kargil.
Meawnhile, in a separate representation the CEC Kargil put before the LG various issues being faced by the general public of Kargil during the ongoing winter season. He apprised the LG about the shortage of essential commodities in Kargil due to untimely closure of the Zojila Pass. He requested the LG to airlift essential commodities to Kargil at the earliest especially onion, milk products, salt and vegetables etc.
Feroz Khan further requested the LG to ensure early operation and frequent service of AN-32 Courier Service. He also urged for early operation of flights for Kargil under UDAN.
Among other issues brought before the LG were evacuation of Kurbathang plateau and establishment of a Physical Education College in Kargil on the lines of Government Physical Education College Ganderbal. The CEC also demanded establishment of a Nursing College at Kargil.
Meanwhile, the CEC also met the Advisor to LG Ladakh Umang Narula and stressed on the urgency of uplifting of essential commodities besides requesting for establishment of two companies of IRP Batallions at Kargil. He also requested for the restoration of internet services in Kargil for the convenience of the general public especially the students and merchants.
Lieutenant Governor UT Ladakh as well as Advisor to LG gave a patient hearing to all the issues raised by CEC Kargil and assured him that these will be resolved at the earliest.
With regard to the shortage of commodities in Kargil, the CEC was assured that these would be airlifted at the earliest.
