JAMMU, Dec 19: BJP State secretary, Sanjay Kumar Baru (JMC Councillor) presented a charter of demands to Prahlad Singh Patel, Union MoS for the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, here and discussed the various issues related to the tourism and culture development of Shiv Khori and adjoining areas in district Reasi.
Charter of demands handed over to the Union Minister by Baru revealed that the region of Reasi has much untapped natural beauty and the areas of social and religious importance. He said that the famous Shiv Khori Shrine of Hindus is a very old and revered place for people from all across the region. He revealed that the pilgrims not only from Jammu, but from outside the region also throng the place in huge numbers.
Baru, said that although the Yatra number is quite high, but still due to the lack of facilities, the pilgrims shy away from making halt at the place. This, he attributed to the reason that there is utter lack of facilities of accommodation and other such amenities for the visitors.
He said that on the initiative of Shiv Khori Shrine Board, there was identification of sites for Cable Car Project and other such tourist attractions but still there is no visible work on the ground for the same. He demanded development of the shrine with starting work on cable car project besides construction of dharmshalas for yatris stay.
