GSI presents rare mineral, fossil specimens to GDC Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Dec 19: Geology Survey of India (GSI) today presented some rare specimens of fossils, rocks and minerals to the Government Degree College Udhampur. More than 20 samples were presented by the GSI to the College.
The Deputy Director General of GSI, Dinesh V Ganvir visited the college in this connection and announced that the Department will be conducting field surveys and other academic activities of the college students so that they get practical training.
He also said that the students of Geology have great future with GSI in getting attractive pay packages. “The future of students is fully secured with attracted pay package with GSI,” he said while interacting with students and staff at the college.
Earlier, the Deputy Director General GSI was received by Principal of the College Dr Nutan Kumar Resutra who took him to the Department of Geology.
The SSI Deputy Director General also visited the Department of Sericulture where he had glance of raw Silk Cocoons of different varieties and decorative items made of Cocoons, prepared by students of the college.
