Mayor distributes school uniforms among needy students

JAMMU, Dec 20: Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Chander Mohan Gupta conducted a tour of Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Bakshi Nagar, Jammu today and distributed school uniforms among the needy students.
The Mayor was accompanied by Suresh Kumar Gupta, JMC Health Officer, Rakesh Bhatt, Transport Officer, Parshotam Kumar, Assistant Sanitation Officer, Sanitary Inspector of the concerned ward and other officers of the department.
While speaking on the occasion, Chander Mohan Gupta and asked the management to organize awareness programmes regarding “Beti Bachao Beti Padio” and encourage the parents to enroll more and more girls in the school so that they get education in the school and avail benefits of various other schemes launched by the Central Government.
Subash Gupta, Principal of the School, other staff members, Prem Gupta (BJP leader), school management committee members and inhabitants of the locality were present there. They all put forth various demands for the betterment of the school which includes maintaining of proper sanitation in and around the school, installation of high mask as well as street lights in the school as large number of residents visits here for morning and evening walk in the school ground and due to darkness and insanitary condition, they have to face lot of hardships.
The Mayor assured the school authorities as well as committee members that all their demands will be fulfilled at an earliest and directed the officers to deploy man, machinery and install high mask lights in the school.
