NEW DELHI, Dec 20: Senior Bhartiya Janata Party leader and Chairperson of Waqf Development Committee of Ministry of Minority Affairs Government of India Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today met Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kisan Reddy.
She discussed the law and order situation of J&K with the Minister and presented a memorandum to him regarding the Union Territory of J&K.
Dr Andrabi requested the MoS to ask the J&K Administration to restore Broadband internet connectivity to J&K as the people especially the student and business community in J&K is facing a lot of problems. She also presented a proposal to Reddy regarding the initiation of special job packages for the youth of J&K so that the miseries of the educated youth are taken care of.
Dr Darakhshan also requested the Minister to take up special tourism revival programmes for the UT as the industry has got a very severe set-back due to the situation in valley of Kashmir.
Minister G Kisan Reddy assured Dr Darakhshan that Union Government will take all necessary steps to address to the problems of the UT and start bigger economic activity in J&K soon.
