JAMMU, Dec 20 : Leaders of Shiv Sena Bala Sahib Thackeray Jammu and Kashmir unit protested against administration and Traffic Police here, today demanding improvement in traffic system and fixing of the accountability on traffic police officers.
Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir unit president, Manish Sahni said doubted the Government claim to make Jammu a Smart City, it can be gauged by the traffic system of Jammu. All roads in the city are jammed at intersections, passenger shadows have been built three times since 2005, but even today the connivance of traffic police is that matador drivers can apply the brakes wherever they want.
He said all the top officers sit in their offices and only conduct meetings and only on the VIPs movement they come out from their rooms. Sahni said that the traffic system cannot be improved until the accountability of the posted traffic officers is decided. He said that if the police administration is not able to fix it, then let the traffic system of the city be handed over to the Shiv Sainiks for a month. “We will show how it can be improved”. After the demonstration, the Shiv Sena leader submitted a memorandum to the IG Traffic regarding their demands. Sahni said that IG Traffic, Alok Kumar assured to take all possible action to improve the traffic system. President Ladies Wing SS, Minakshi Chhibber, working president Ashwini Gupta, general secretary, Vikas Bakshi, GI Singh, secretary, Raj Singh, joint secretary, Raju Salaria, Raju Chaudhary, Mangu Ram, Bhuri Singh, Pawan Singh, Arjun Kumar, Suresh Kumar and many other were present.
