KATHUA, Dec 21: In a meeting cum protest demonstration held at District Hospital Kathua, All JK NHM Employees Association under the chairmanship of its president Rohti Seth highlighted the demands of the employees.
The programme was attended by a large number of different categories of NHM employees drawn from all over the district. The meeting cum protest demonstration was addressed by Dr Raman Sharma, Dheeraj Sharma, Anita Sharma and others.
All the speakers expressed deep anguish over the apathetic attitude of the Government towards NHM employees and for non redressal of their problems and fulfillment of their demands.
They highlighted various demands including regularization of all categories of NHM employees with wage grade similar to their counter parts in the health departments, enhanc-ement of salary of NHM staff at par with NHM staff of Delhi, grant of leave benefits on the analogy of the states of Orissa and Tri-pura, release of salary of the NHM staff for the agitation/termination period as agreed upon during negotiations and to immediately stop unnecessarily harassment of NHM employees.
The leaders emphasized the fulfillment of the agreement and its implementation in letter and spirit. They cautioned the Government not to test their patience and stop exploitation of the NHM employees failing which they shall be left out with no alternative other than agitational path which they want to avoid.
