SRINAGAR, Dec 22: Security forces today arrested a militant in North Kashmir district of Baramulla and a militant associate in South Kashmir.
Police in Awantipora arrested an associate of militant who was operating in Tral area of South Kashmir.
He has been identified as Rasiq Maqbool Sheikh, resident of Pastoona, Tral. Police said incriminating materials have been recovered from his possession.
“All the recovered incriminating material has been taken into records for the purpose of investigation and to probe his complicity in other terror crimes”, police said.
“As per the police records, he is involved in providing logistic support to the active JeM terrorists operating in Tral area”, they said.
“Case under relevant Sections of law has been registered at Police Station Tral in the instant matter. Further investigation is in progress”, police added.
And security forces today arrested a militant Saddam Mir of Brat in Sopore in district Baramulla. He was arrested from Warpora Sopore during a naka. Police said that he was active since December 12 and a pistol was recovered from him.
