Hike medical allowance, provide health insurance cover: LPEF

JAMMU, Dec 24: All J&K Low Paid Govt Employees Federation has demanded hike in Medical Allowance and Health insurance cover for the employees and pensioners.
In a meeting of the Provincial committee of the LPEF held under the chairmanship of Amar Nath at Kathua today, the State resident Abdul Majid Khan urged upon the J&K UT authorirties to increase the Medical Allowance of the employees and pensioners and also bring them under Health Insurance cover. He said at present the Government is providing just Rs 300 per month as Medical Allowance to the employees and pensioners which is cruel joke with them. The Govt must increase it to at least Rs 1000 per monthm if not Rs 2000 or 3000.
He further demanded medical insurance cover to the employees and pensioners at affordable annual/ bi-annual or quatterly premium. Khan also demanded release of pending wages of all type of workers including consolidated and their regularization with out any more delay. The field employees should also be given transport allowance as per Central norms. He also demanded hike in the honorarium of Village Guards, Numberdars and Anganwadi Workers.
Amar Nath, prominent LPEF activist from Kathua also spoke on the occasion and projected the burning issues of the working class and pensioners. He sought immediate attention of the Government.
