JAMMU, Dec 26: BJP State Secretary and Jammu Municipal Committee (JMC) Councillor from Ward Number 41 Sanjay Kumar Baru and JMC Councillor from Ward Number 40 Neelam Nargotra while touring the sites of cremation grounds in their respective Wards allotted the funds of Rs 50 lakh.
Sanjay Kumar Baru, while speaking said that the people of the adjoining areas were facing lots of trouble, while performing the last rights of their loved ones. He said that the people earlier also raised the issue, in front of former Minister and former Local MLA Sat Sharma, who promised to get the job done on priority as soon as funds allow the same. Already the work on the water supply was done in the cremation ground with the fund allocated by Sat Sharma out of his CDF, he added.
“Now with the availability of the funds, we chose to spend this amount, so that the people coming to perform the last rights do not face any type of difficulty”, he said and disclosed that under the present work, the tile work, sitting place, shed work and the water supply tank will be taken on priority. He disclosed that Rs 25 lakh were allotted to each Ward in the General House Meeting of JMC for the repairs and upgradation of cremation grounds and the present work on the cremation ground will be done with the help of that fund from both the Wards.
Neelam Nargotra, while interacting with locals, asked them to supervise the work themselves also, so as to ensure the proper utilization of the funds.

Ashok Kumar Bhagat, Rahul Nargotra, Anu Behnal, Paramjit Kour, Sahil Kaul, Hem Raj Gupta, Rajesh Gupta, Pardeep Singh, Bansi Lal and many others were present on the occasion.
