POONCH, Dec 26: The inhabitants of Phagla village in Surankote area of Poonch district are awaiting the construction of a bridge over Nallah and permanent road connectivity since independence.
The villagers and their school-going children often risk their lives while crossing this river and specially when it is flooded or semi-flooded. The school going children many times remain struck on the either side for hours during rainy season. During floods, this river forces these school going children to confine within their houses.
Locals of the area claimed that the Phagla village remains cut off during rainy season. There is urgent need to construct a bridge and ensure road connectivity. Many times, political leaders made false claims during elections but this demand of the public remained unheard.
The people face lot of difficulties while shifting patients of the area to the hospital. The villagers alleged that tall claims of the local leaders/ former legislators have totally exposed in their tall claims of massive development in Surankote area.
