JAMMU, Dec 28: Panun Kashmir (PK) organised the “28th Margdarshan Divas” here, today. The function was held under the chairmanship of president, PK Virender Raina, Ashok Kaul, general secretary (Org.) J&K BJP was the chief guest while Prof. K.L.Bhatia, Constitutional expert was the guest of honour.
The key note address was presented by BJP Spokesperson Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo. Others who spoke included R.K.Bhat, president, YAIKS, R.L.Pandita, president, PNBMT, Shivdass Raina, national coordinator, PK Vimla Chrungoo, secretary- DOPK and Sameer Bhat, convener, PK Youth.
A booklet titled, “Advocate P. N. Bhat, a symbol of struggle & sacrifice” authored by Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo was also released on the occasion.
Ashok Kaul, BJP general secretary was honoured on the occasion for party’s historic decisions on Kashmir.
Virender Raina, in his welcome address said that the credit of bringing a historical change in the J&K State goes to the PM Narendra Modi and the Union Home Minister Amit Shah who took courageous and bold steps to end the dual citizenship and the roots of Constitutional separatism in J&K for ever.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, in his address presented a seven point agenda on behalf of the displaced Pandits demanding all those Hindus of Kashmir who were forced to leave the Valley in the past 700 years due to religious persecution, division of J&K in 1947 and terrorism need to be resettled in Kashmir as the primary stakeholders.
He also demanded all such seven hundred thousand people may be resettled at one place in the Valley keeping in view their geo-political aspirations, the delimitation process need to reserve five seats in the Assembly of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir for the minorities, appointing of Special Crimes Tribunal to enquire into the excesses, genocide and ethnic cleansing committed against the Hindu minorities of Kashmir in view of the pronouncement made by the National Human Rights Commission in 1999 in this regard, passage of Hindu temples and shrines Bill, all 6,000 reserved posts in the Government, be filled up without any further delay and one-time compensation to overaged youth.
Ashok Kaul in his address said that the Kashmiri Pandits three decade old struggle in exile has largely contributed to the historical changes in the J&K State. The Central Government is determined to bring the basic and fundamental reforms not only in the administrative and political field but also in the social, economic and cultural fields as well.
Upinder Kaul, general secretary conducted the proceedings of the programme while Kamal Bagati, general secretary (Org.), PK presented the vote of thanks.
