JAMMU, Dec 28: J&K SC, ST, OBC Mahasabha has urged upon the authorities for the implementation of Mandal Commission report and hike quota of SCs to 15 % in J&K UT.
In a meeting of the Mahasabha held here today, under the chairmanship of Bodh Raj Bhagat ( president), the speakers stressed upon the need of giving hike in the reservation quota. They alleged that Modi Govt was exploiting people on various emotive issues. It is also trying to divert the attention of the people from the basic issues.
Mr Bhagat while opposing the CAA, claimed that it was amended on the religious lines which was not needed at all. He demanded implementation of Mandal Commission report providing 27 % reservation to the OBCs, provision of 15% reservation to the Scheduled Castes and setting up of Commission for Backward Classes in J&K UT.
Other office bearers, ML Chalotra, Mohinder Bhagat, Ashok Kashyap, Darshan Lal and Vivek Kumar also spoke on the occasion.
