Jammu, Dec 28: In order to ensure awareness among the general public, as well as, drivers & cleaners of the vehicles, Mohan Lal Kaith, Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic Rural Jammu visited district Rajouri today and convened traffic awareness camps and public meetings with the prominent citizens of the town. The concerned Traffic Officers of the area were also present on the occasion.
During the awareness camps/meetings, Kaith stressed upon the vehicle drivers/ cleaners to implement the Traffic rules & regulations strictly while driving their vehicles and avoid overloading, which is the main cause of vehicular accidents in which precious human lives can be lost.
“A small error of rash and negligent driving of vehicles can be a major mistake of concerned drivers leading to loss of human souls”, he said.
The participants further stressed upon to avoid triple ridding, non use of mobile phone and always use their seat belts while driving. He further stated that the violators will not be spared at any cost and dealt with under the provisions of new Motor vehicle Act. “The smooth driving of vehicles by the drivers is the safe destination of passengers”, he asserted.
He stressed upon the participants that in view of ongoing fog season particularly from Bhamla to Nowshera, the concerned drivers should have to drive their respective vehicles as per the prescribed speed limit and also use fog light system during their journey, so that the accidents can be averted.
The participants further stated that there is no bus service from Rajouri to Gurdhan Balla, due to which the general public is facing a great problem. They further voiced that a number of vehicular accidents have occurred in Rajouri town in the recent past due to frequent movement of HMVs and requested for declaration of “No entry Zone for HMVs” from Salani bridge to Darhali bridge & Salani bridge to Khandli bridge from 9 am to 4 pm on daily basis, in view of heavy rush of school going children in Rajouri town.
They have been assured that the matter shall be taken up with the concerned authority for redressal of their grievances.
