OBCs and Art 370

Sir,
After the abrogation of Art 370, there was great hope among OBCs that their lot would change with the implementation of Central Reservation rules in the newly carved Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. In this regard, advertisement were carried out in local newspapers that “OBCs would get their due in employment and in education at par with the OBCs of the rest of country”. But nothing like that happened. The J&K OBCs continue to be governed under State Reservation Act 2004.
Likewise, West Pakistan Refugees who were denied jobs and property rights as they had to produce State Subject Certificates for the same. After abrogation of Art 370, it was deemed that they no longer have to produce this vital document. But that is not true. These people have to produce State Subject Certificates even now for employment and other purposes. They have raised their grievances time and again before the concerned authorities, but no one listens them.
Therefore, it may be said that abrogation of Art 370 has not brought any boon for OBCs and Pakistan refugees yet.
One hopes the concerned quarters would take cognizance of the matter as soon as possible, so that these marginalised sections of society won’t feel let down by the UT and Central Governments.
