Srinagar, Dec 31: Provisional President of People’s Democratic Party today demanded release of their political leadership especially the party president, Mehbboba Mufti.
He made these remarks during the party’s youth workers meet that was held for the first time after August 5. “We request the administration to release our political leadership as no one is there to listen to the people and psyche of the people has been badly dented,” he said.
He said that the meeting was called ahead of 3rd death anniversary of the party patron, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, which falls on 7th January. “The main motive behind this meeting was to review the arrangements for the third death anniversary of party patron,Mufti Mohammed Sayed. We have to visit his grave and offer prayers. We are hopeful that administration will allow us to go there,” he said.
He added that Sayed had advocated for democracy and considered it as battle of ideas. “People like him never die. History will remember him as a great leader. During his tenure people were living with peace and dignity,” he said.
