JAMMU, Jan 1: Calendar for the year 2020 of Northern Zone Insurance Employees’ Association (NZIEA), Srinagar Division was released today at Jammu by Sat Paul, Senior Divisional Manager in presence of Raj Kumar Verma, Marketing Head LIC (J&K).
Pawan Gupta, Divisional Secretary Northern Zone Insurance Employees’ Association Srinagar Division, Romesh Chand and Rajesh Gupta, joint secretaries, Raj Kumar Sharma, Treasurer, Rajesh Kumar, Auditor and Raj Kumar, office secretary of NZIEA were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, SDM spoke at length about the contribution of LIC in Nation building and also appreciated the role of NZIEA in strengthening the industry. He said that LIC is a global organization with 41 crore policy holders which is more than the population of a number of countries. Its claim settlement performance is almost 99%.
He also appreciated the agents and employees for the wonderful performance of the Srinagar Division which has achieved the target in P&GS, MICRO Insurance and Health Insurance for the Financial year 2019-20.
Pawan Gupta said that LIC has a excellent record of performance in implementing the various schemes launched for the people of this country by the Govt. of India. In last financial year LIC paid a dividend of Rs 2430 crores on the share money of Rs 100 crores to Government of India. Whenever there is a crisis in the institutions – private or public institutions LIC has proved itself a saviour for them.
He said the glaring examples are UTI, Satyam in the past and recently IDBI. Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways of India and Shipping Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has announced that LIC will be contributing Rs 1.2 lakh crores per year for the development of the highways in the country. In the past also LIC decided to invest Rs 5 lakh crore in phases in Indian Railways. Team NZIEA of J&K assured its full support to the LIC Management.
