SAMBA, Jan 1: Highlighting the problems being faced by the commuters due to installation of Sarore Toll Plaza by NHAI, Deepak Gupta, Chairman Vijaypur Municipal Committee demanded that the Toll Plaza be removed as there is no need of the same.
Talking to reporters at Vijaypur near here, today he said the people of the Samba who travel by their own vehicles are being charged toll at TP Sarore and even being harassed by the employees of Toll Plaza.
He said that when the Toll Plaza was started, the Samba district administration has decided free Toll for the people of Samba district.
Now backtracking from their promise they have started charging the Toll Tax from Samba people too which is injustice. Deepak Kumar also highlighted that for a Toll Plaza the venue is not appropriate because there is not any facility i.e. medical, drinking water, toilet complex even no system to avert the traffic jam which is the main problem for patients, students and the employees too.
He demanded removing of the Toll Plaza as soon as possible and warned that if authorities fail to redress the problem the people will come to streets in protest.
