JAMMU, Mar 22: The Subansari Lower Project (SLP) of NHPC today organized a one-day workshop on “CSR in PSU’s: caring the Expectation of the Stakeholders” at Guwahati.
Executive Director, SLP, Mr Rakesh and general manager (HR), NHPC, DS Chauhan, attended the programme along with other senior NHPC officials from various locations including North East region, Siliguri region and Loktak Power Station.
Speaking on the occasion, Rakesh emphasized on sustainable development and creating employability to bring about positive change in the quality of lives of the local people through corporate social responsibility, while Chauhan focused on the provisions of new CSR guidelines and procedures for implementation.
The program also included deliberations and presentations by eminent speakers including Director Development, Smile Foundation, New Delhi, Dr Bhupen Sharmah from OKD Institute of Social Change and Development, Guwahati and Miss Purnima from Aaranyak, a Guwahati based NGO.
The programme was focused on empowerment of people and creating employability through Skill development.
