‘Kashmir Super 30’ launched

SRINAGAR, Mar 22: The ‘Kashmir Super 30’ programme was launched by Lt Gen Om Prakash, GOC 15 Corps during a seminar ‘Enabling Students of Kashmir for Higher Technical Education’ at Baramulla today.
The defence spokesman said that the function was organized by Dagger Division. He said that the launch took place in the presence of Maj Gen V G Khandare, GOC 19 Infantry Division, Ghulam Ahmed Khwaja, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla and the Super 30 Team with its Director S K Shahi and Krishnamurti Singh.
The spokesman said that around 550 students and 100 teachers from various Higher Secondary Schools of the Valley took part in the seminar. Lt Gen Om Prakash in his opening address emphasized the importance of the education of youth in Kashmir and said that it is a unique opportunity for students to get specialized training in the 10 month free coaching programme to join IITs and NITs in the country and become top engineers.
The Kashmir Super 30 programme has been launched by the famous Abhayanand Super 30 who has an excellent track record of transforming lives of many poor children in the country with the support of Army. Kashmir Super 30 has committed to take 30 students under its wings each year from 2013 onwards wherein an amount of Rs 75 Lakh per batch has been committed by the NGO CSRL.
